2000 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide review from United States of America
"Good bike, bad relationship with the company and its habit of leaving the R&D to the dealer/owners"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Cam bearings at 6000.
Rod/crank assembly ay 41000.
Water vapor in the gas gauge at 3000.
Brake pads every 10000 mi.
General comments?
Good bike except for dealer and factory ambivalence toward problems caused by poor design.
The cam bearings went out, which caused the crank and rod assembly to get loose prematurely, with absolutely no assistance from the manufacturer during my experience with the crank and rods getting loose.
The bike as a unit is good, and you can ride it all day, which I have done on several occasions. I have put over 1000 miles on it in a 24 hour period, and have ridden it 4700 miles on a 10 day trip.
