"Beautiful but flawed early super-bike"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
I broke it badly! I managed to bend the crank shaft!
This bike was too powerful for its own parts! Apart from breaking the engine, nothing went wrong.
General comments?
My first BIG bike. A beefed up CB750 and much, much bigger brother to the brilliant but lardy CB250 Superdream, the commuter bike God would build.
The performance was fantastic, the 95bhp engine was as smooth as silk, and the power spooled up from almost stand still.
Beautiful looks and comfortable riding position meant you could ride all day. The addition of a faring on later models undoubtedly added to the comfort.
Being a 1970s machine, the frame was a feeble and if pushed, flexed rather disturbingly. Grip was an issue too, the tyres could have been better and fatter, and the brakes should have had more pots and the discs ventilated, but a wonderful, outrageously heavy, early super-bike none the less. A classic from Honda's list of Classics.
