2002 Ducati Monster 620 Dark review from United States of America
"Great bike. Lots of power for its size"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
The battery died, but it was still under warranty, so it wasn't a big deal.
General comments?
The bike is the Ducati Monster 620 Dark. A great bike. Some refer to this as a "starter bike", it is the bottom of the Ducati line (around $6k new), but for me it's a perfect "around town and commuter bike".
I've learned it's not the most comfortable bike for long rides, but it's not a touring bike so that's to be expected. Like any sport style bikes, you must be aware of keeping your weight off the handlebars, yet rely on your back muscles, otherwise your thumbs go numb, etc. etc.
I heard all about Ducati's reputation for electrical issues, but haven't had any yet. The biggest drawback of this bike quite honestly, is that the bike won't start with the kickstand down. The bypass is relatively cheap, and easy to install, and highly advised.
