1991 Suzuki GSX1100G review from United States of America
"Superbike disguised as a standard motorcycle"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Fork seals failed every 3 years. Fork springs were too soft from day one. I installed progressive springs.
Front fender paint faded inside of 3 years. The paint elsewhere on the bike is still beautiful (Candy President Maroon). The metalized plastic gauge housings began to crack at the 10-year point. Repainted fender and housings.
General comments?
Rock-solid, durable and dependable. Starts every spring after 3 months of just sitting in the garage. No fuel or carb issues. Engine warms inside of 10 seconds, then choke-off and drive away.
Roll-on 55MPH to 80 MPH in under 3 seconds in 5th gear. From 65MPH, drop to 4th gear and crank throttle, front tire lifts off the ground. And this is a Sport Tourer?
Perhaps the most dependable superbike every made. No frills, just 1100cc punch and miles of smiles.
