1985 Suzuki TS185ER review from United Kingdom
"Wicked bike"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Swing-arm bearings worn out, resulting in the chain constantly falling off.
Fracture of the crankcase.
Gearbox lockup.
General comments?
The bike is seriously quick, even compared to 2006 crossers.
The handling is very good, except when the swingarm bearings wear out, and the back wheel wobbles all over the shop.
I have taken the bike to many motocross tracks, and come home with nearly as many trophys, but last sunday I was racing against KX 125's, YZ's and KTM SX's. I was 2nd when "Bang!", the gearbox died. I got it home, stripped the engine down (very easy) and found out a crank had twisted out of shape (I believe this is because I slipped a little r/c car nitro fuel into the fuel (naughty me).
