1952 Puch SG250 review from Belgium
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
250cc 2-stroke.
My segments broke at 24600km, creating a lot of damage.
Electricity (lack of) is also a problem because it is a 6V system with a small battery, and the bike has two coils (one for each plug), so if you just leave the contact on, your battery is flat-dead in 20 minutes.
The problem is that parts are rare and expensive for such an old bike. In Austria (original production country) you can still find a lot of parts and bikes (still popular there, but as a vintage). Sears sold a lot of them to farmers as a very reliable bike.
General comments?
A nice, but dated bike. Good as a reliable vintage, but not to use on a daily basis anymore: no indicators, a lot of smoke and vibration above 3000rpm. Max speed 105km/h.
Very strong frame.
