1984 BMW R65 review from South Africa
"Great city bike"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Replaced battery, and had a starter relay unit fixed. Also had the light switch fixed.
General comments?
I got this bike for an absolute steal at 6000ZAR.
It is my first bike and I love it. It is in very good condition for its age.
It's a great city bike, not very much suited to open road use as it's naked.
I only get 120-130km/h flat out, chin against the tank.
It seems that around 4500rpm it isn't getting enough fuel. Had the carburetors cleaned/adjusted, but still not right, any comments on this problem?
