Summary:

Most fun I have had in a long time. Try it, you will love it too

Faults:

The only wrong things I have had:

The gas gauge was faulty from day one (replaced at 600 mile service) - fixed.

The belt needed to be adjusted at the 5000 mile service.

General Comments:

I also feel like a salesman, but when you have one of these, you are.

I have owned Harley Ultra Classics and Honda Goldwings, and this is so much more fun.

After 43 plus years of two wheels, the fun of riding is back.

I only wish is that more aftermarket manufacturers would see the profits they are missing. Spyder riders are in need of additional accessories.

Summary:

Great

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

It amazes me that people keep trying to compare this machine to a two wheel cycle - it's a tricycle. You may as well compare a standard motorcycle to a dump truck, and have the same validity.

This thing is well built (as good as the Honda's I have owned, much better than the Suzukis and Harley I owned). It retains all the good points of the motorcycle, but adds many of the good points of an ATV or even a snowmobile. It's quiet at highway speed and comfortable (great for long distances) and carries more inside cargo than any ATV, snowmobile or motorcycle I've owned.

Gas mileage could be improved, but I like to stretch every couple of hours anyhow. It's not the machine for the real image conscientious guy who puts on 1500 miles a year, and that's circling the Dairy Queen tying to impress the 13 year old girls. The RT is made to go and it does. I am already planning some 8,000 mile trips across the US and back.

I would like some more HP, but it is adequate now. Not sure I like the propriety tire system they have. I'm sure other tire companies will make more when the volume increases. I'm also concerned about the availability of dealerships. I wonder how many there in southern NM or AZ (same problem with BMW I guess).

Summary:

Really draws a crowd

Faults:

There was a recall on the bike for a stabilizer; dealer replaced without incident. Noticed unusual wear on the rear tire, but that is reportedly due to the design of the tire to dispel water and grip, so unusual is the normal.

General Comments:

Just returned from a five day jaunt through Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina. Ran and handled excellent. Was really amazed at how well it handled on the mountain passes and on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Spyders still have right foot heat issues in slow moving traffic. Wish I had more colors to choose from.

To the person with the heat problem on right foot: It is called a Radiator Block Off Plate. You can find it aftermarket parts; just about everyone has one. It runs between $20.00 to $30.00; that includes tax and shipping, but works great. Have to remove the pan under the radiator for the head to go somewhere else. I have a 2011 Can-Am Spyder RT.

Summary:

This is the best vehicle I have ever owned

Faults:

I use a CB when riding with certain large groups. The push to talk button stays open a while after I have let go, causing the mike to remain open.

General Comments:

This motorcycle can handle anything. I ride long and short distance; back roads, highways and mountain roads. The ride is always awesome. It is my go to vehicle in good weather. It is very comfortable for a passenger too. The Can Am RT is a powerful vehicle. Fast, steady, maneuverable. It has it all.
