This is the 1984 V65 Magna.
I replaced the ignition trigger. It had slipped and let the bike go out of time.
I had to strip the old clear coat from the aluminum and polish it to get the chrome look back.
I have NO mechanical problems with the bike.
The bike is super strong. It'll suck your eyeballs to the back of your head when you go open it up. It's not real comfortable nor does it handle like a crotch rocket, but that's not the point here!
It's a cruiser that will keep you grinning ear to ear all day long, with that motor sitting between your legs.
The V-65 mag. is a bike that still can pass 90% of what is on the road today. Mine is 24 years old with a stator replacement, final drive replacement, due to a bearing going down, 2 sets of clutch plates and normal maintenance.
She is soon to be 25 years old, and I am still in love with her.
This bike is so far ahead of its time I cannot see why Honda stopped making them.
The only thing one MOST stay on top is ALL fluid changes, and use only high quality oil due to the cam wear problems I have seen on other V-65s.
RIDE ON, c.c. rider.
My husband had an '84 V65 back in the late 80's, and he absolutely loved that bike. He told me just how powerful it was, and that he still wishes that he had it (but doubts he would still be around today if he had kept it longer).
The V65 Magna is one of the best muscle bikes of all time. I've had mine for about 2 years and only wish I could go back in time to buy one new. I plan to keep it for a long time. Reliable and very hard acceleration.
