I have a 1987 Honda Elite 50. I wanted to do an oil change, so I took the bolt out that said "oil"; it was on the left side of the bike and right in front of the back tire, but only 3 or 4 shot glasses (for lack of better measurement LOL) drained. But the oil reservoir still had a lot left. So I drained that. But when I refilled with new oil, that drain that I originally took that screw out of did not drain any new oil. So I am worried I drained something I shouldn't have. Would these bikes have trans fluid or any other fluids that I could have drained originally from that screw? Thanks for any help guys.
How can the 85-90 Elites be made to last, go fast and less costly? Already, seems the battery must be boosted... how about an inline 2nd one? Anyone ever figure the leaking oil or carb problem other than micro hole cleanout? And, any way to avoid a 10 minute warmup?
Thanks from WA.
I just bought an 87 Elite 80cc from a neighbor for $100, that had been sitting in his shed for 6 years. I bought a new battery and I was rolling with no problems!!!
I have had a CH80 since we bought it in new in 1988. Anytime you start it cold, you have to wait 2 - 3 minutes for it to warm up. If you try to rev it even a little, it will die. After that it is OK.
For parts, look at cheapcycleparts.com. I got a new carb that Honda wanted 305 for for 116. Brand new carb in Honda package and wrapping.
Bought a 2002 Elite 80 from original owner with 694 miles on it. It was not driven regularly recently. It runs fine. 45 top speed 210 lbs. Cannot find a manual anywhere yet. Ideas welcome. fbangeman@gmail.com
I have a 2007 CH80. I'm trying to change the motor oil; I know where to drain it but don't know where to fill it up. The manual says I should fill up the crankcase, but there is no picture of it. Help! I don't want to spend another 80 bucks at the dealer for an oil change!
Please email me if you have an answer. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2007 CH80. It's very cold starting. I spend a good 10 minutes of trying to start it before it actually runs. Then I have to take off in a hurry. It always dies at the first 2 stop signs in my neighborhood, but once I get on a through street and get it up to speed, it will keep running just fine. I have no problem keeping up with traffic.
I found out last spring that it wasn't a good idea putting gas line anti-freeze in the tank for the winter. It gummed up the carb. The dealer had to come out and trailer it to the shop. Very pricey. I won't be doing that again. I'll just have to start and run it every few days this winter. Has anyone driven one in the freezing weather?
