"FYI I get 23,000 plus miles on rear tire."
I would like to know how this was done?
I have an 05 Road Glide and get about 10,000 on the rear.
I have an '01 Road Glide purchased new.
Have 40,000 miles on and still love it.
Definitely recommend one.
Real riders DO ride Harleys.
America rocks!
I have owned and ridden many bikes, both Japanese and Harley. All were reasonably reliable and enjoyable. I agree with the person here who asks what difference it makes what brand you ride. Ride what makes you happy.
I have owned many motorcycles, and my old 82 Honda V45 Magna was good around town more comfort than my 2006 Sportster. My Super Glide I had to trade in for the 2006 Road Glide. Love the Road Glide; just wish I could keep the windshield on. The only bike I have ever owned with no problems was my 1976 Huffy.
I rode my first 05 Road Glide 20,000 miles and did have an issue with the windshield wanting to come unhooked. I added the chrome windshield trim and never had an issue after that. The only other item was putting a new rear tire on at 15,000 miles.
I loved this bike. So when I was on a road trip, and saw another 05 Road Glide with flame paint, 95 kit and only 4,000 miles, I traded bikes.
My wife rides my older 2002 Harley Low Rider with 25,000 miles. We have done nothing outside of tires on it either. Well both bikes have $3,000+ accessories now.
I use to ride with 4 Road Stars. However after bad mouthing me for two years, and almost running into me time and time again, after not being able to stop, they all 4 are now riding Harleys with much bigger grins than before. Now we laugh at how they bad mouthed me riding a "Harley" LOL.
Cheers.
