2000 Honda CB750 Nighthawk review from United States of America
"Excellent bike - low cost/maintenance - very reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Handlebar bushings replaced. These are flimsy rubber bushings and are cheap, but looks like they will need replacing each season. Decided to have some aluminum bushings made for a more permanent solution.
General comments?
Extreme low maintenance, parts are readily available, self maintenance easy and most bike repair shops know how to work on it for the hard things.
Stock seat will start to eat your butt cheeks after 30 minutes - replace seat for long rides. After market accessories few and far between - expect to put extra effort into finding that special windshield or pipes for it.
Center point of gravity is higher than a cruiser, which makes it easier to for me to control. Weighs less than a cruiser, more comfortable than a crotch rocket.
Hydraulic valves are a little noisy, but worth the minor irritation for low maintenance costs.
Power bands are very close together which makes mid level power a little mushy. Hard to tell some times what gear it is in - only way to tell is the tach.
Air cooled with oil cooler - can really feel the heat coming off the motor on a hot day sitting in traffic. Use high quality oil made for air heads and all is well.
Still made in Japan, but not sold in USA since 2003.
