2008 Suzuki Boulevard S50

Summary:

Love the bike anyway

Faults:

Hard starting at 40 F.

General Comments:

The S50 looks just as great as my 1986 750 Intruder did.

Love the power, acceleration, comfort, handling.

Starting problems at low temperatures. I found at 40 F the front cylinder begins to fire but will not run on one cylinder. Then the rear cylinder kicks in. It takes a few minutes to make it run smooth.

It appears the rear cylinder is a bit leaner.

1995 Suzuki Boulevard S50

Summary:

Very reliable and inexpensive to operate

Faults:

Right side signal light stopped working. It was corrosion in a connector, simply from the age of the bike.

Gas cap loosened and rattled. Solved this with a new gasket.

SEVERE brake squeal. Looking for a fix.

General Comments:

Great styling.

Love the thin front tire.

Seems to have enough power for the bike.

Commute to work (70km) each way, and love the economy.

Seat is quite uncomfortable. Considering purchase of a new seat.

Overall, very good quality in a great handling bike.

I also rode a Burgman 400 and then bought the Boulevard S50. Loved the scoot and I love my new ride.

Summary:

The best bike out there for the money

General Comments:

The bike is hot to look at, and the ride is even better.

The muffler provides that Killer "Throaty Growl" when you jam.

2006 Suzuki Boulevard S50

Summary:

The bike has plenty of power for most riding situations, looks great and is a heck of a lot of fun!

Faults:

I have just passed the 1000km break in period and nothing has gone wrong with this bike.

General Comments:

Overall the bike is great fun to ride. This is my first bike, and at first I was a little intimidated by how much power is actually available at the lower rpms. If there was one thing I would change it would be to add another gear.

Having passed the 1000km break in period, I am extremely pleased with the bike with three minor exceptions:

The gas tank is a little small. I can get about 200km before I have to switch to the reserve. For around town riding this is not a problem, but on longer trips you will be stopping more frequently to fill up.

After the first couple of hundred kms, I started to get the front break squeal that I heard reported by others. Once up to speed at 75-80km/h you don't hear it, but as you slow down you will start to hear it again.

The seat can get a bit uncomfortable on longer rides as your backside will get a little numb.
