1969 Honda C65

Summary:

Basic and cheap running

Faults:

Bike was in a storeroom for 16 years; it won't start.

Platinum ignition gave up, replaced with CDI.

Carburetor float leak, replaced cheaply.

General Comments:

Cheap to run, and definitely a head turner wherever you head to, since it's still on the road, despite being 40 years old. Never fails to grab glimpses from passers by, so what's the point spending a fortune just to ride in style?

However, performance was never an expectation, because of how far you could go on a bike with only 65cc. But still sufficient to carry you around town running errands, and to the nearby town comfortably.

The cost of ownership is on the rise for this bike, as many insurers won't issue a cover note, and if they do, it's up to 2 times more hefty than a conventional bike.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
