2001 BMW R 1150 GS
Summary:
Good ride, poor reliability
Faults:
Within first 6 months:
Battery thermal runaway - replaced under warranty, but they would not repair damage to the frame paint.
Fuel control unit failed - replaced under warranty.
ABS - many system faults.
General Comments:
Love the riding position, comfort, pulling power, and the great commanding position on the road.
Very heavy to lug around my garage and park.
Reliability was an issue for this one, let me down too many times, and I got the impression it was a five o'clock bike that had all the gremlins.
Local dealer, at the time, was not that helpful and tainted my confidence in the marque, especially when I also had a BMW Mini, which was a bigger let down!
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? No
