2013 BRP Can-Am Spyder RS

Summary:

A blast to ride and safe as well!!

Faults:

There was a gasket in the brake fluid reservoir that caused a light to come on. My husband changed the gasket and it stopped.

General Comments:

I absolutely love my Spyder; I feel more comfortable riding it every time we ride.

2011 BRP Can-Am Spyder RS

Summary:

A safe, enjoyable ride

Faults:

Wouldn't shift gears properly - low oil was the cause. Filled it back up, problem went away. No significant repair costs (yet).

General Comments:

Love the safety and stability compared to a 2-wheel experience. I've read a few unpleasant things online concerning the Can-Am, and I'm really hoping those aren't common. I've had no trouble thus far. My children love the experience, and they feel safe which is important to me. I also love the frunk (front trunk) space. It makes lugging the laptop to work much easier, as well as secure helmet storage. It costs about $125 for an oil change, which I consider extremely high, but worth it so long as the other parts of the bike continue to perform well.

2013 BRP Can-Am Spyder RS

Summary:

In general I'm happy

Faults:

Nothing went wrong.

General Comments:

I love riding this bike, as I do not have to worry about holding it upright when stopped, especially with a passenger aboard.

The only downside is the amount of heat it throws out on the left side, which contacts a rider's left lower leg.

2012 BRP Can-Am Spyder RS

Summary:

I do like it better than a 2 wheel bike

Faults:

Trouble turning the ignition switch to open the trunk and the seat. Since this is the only way to open either of these, it gets pretty worrisome when you turn the key to open the seat to put gas in it, and it doesn't work. Spraying lube in the keyhole seems to do the trick, but this shouldn't have to be done as frequently as we have had to. My husband's Spyder has the same problem.

2012 BRP Can-Am Spyder RS

Summary:

Great bike

General Comments:

The seat is very soft and comfortable.

I love the fact it has power steering.

Handles great with another rider.

I like the fact it's semi automatic and has a foot brake.

Rides great on a wet road.

It handles very good going up the mountains around here.

Has an air cooled engine, which makes it easy to ride in parades compared to water cooled ones that overheat.

You never have to put your feet down at stop signs.
