2014 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

Good bike

Faults:

Besides the recalls, nothing has went wrong with the Street Glide. The only negative I can say is, in stock form the bike is very uncomfortable. A new seat and shocks have fixed that problem. The infotainment system is quirky, but works fairly well.

General Comments:

The bike is a blast to ride. It handles like a sport bike. After modifications it is a 1000 mile/day bike.

2015 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

The best on the market, hands down

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the bike. It did have two recalls on it; took it to the dealer and they fixed it.

General Comments:

This Street Glide is the greatest bike. It is so very easy to handle, the ride is wonderful, and the power is great. I cannot find anything bad to say about the bike.

2014 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

A good dependable motorcycle for trips or around town

Faults:

Nothing has really gone wrong with this bike since I've owned it. It has been one of the best bikes I've owned. Nothing major has gone wrong with it, other than normal maintenance. I had a couple flat tires on trips, but other than that it has been free of any problems.

Just put all new seals and gaskets on it at about 55k, and then traded it in on a new one shortly after.

2013 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

Super beastie!

Faults:

Nothing so far.

General Comments:

It is very sporty.

Customizing it has been great, as finding parts I like for it has been relatively easy.

The 6 gallon tank takes me quite a bit farther.

The 6th gear is awesome.

I can charge my iPhone while I'm riding.

I can play my iPhone through the stereo.

I think the Chrome Yellow Pearl color should be easier to see.

It is easy to understand why this model is so popular.

2013 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

Fantastic

Faults:

A girl turned left in front of me and I hit her. Now if that's not wrong, I don't know what is.

General Comments:

Added additional and brighter lights.

Added a louder exhaust system to be heard better and perform better.

Also installed a seat that makes it more comfortable for riders with long legs.

Accidentally got the front wheel off the ground last night.

2012 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

If you can think it, there are aftermarket parts for it

Faults:

Clutch and/or cable constantly needs to be adjusted.

General Comments:

The colors that were available for 2012 models are amazing. I love my big blue pearl color.

After putting 8000 miles on in one season, I had to buy a more comfortable seat.

I feel the bike could be more adequately equipped for the puchase price. You could get more for less from other manufacturers, however nothing else compares to the styling and availability of aftermarket parts.

2013 Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide

Summary:

The best retirement gift I gave myself

Faults:

At 3,450 miles my 103ci motor shutdown on me as I was riding at 45 mph within city limits. This happened around 8:00pm on a Sunday evening, therefore nobody was open to help me troubleshoot the problem. Luckily I own my own truck and trailer. I called the dealership where I purchased the motorcycle. They came the following day (77 miles away) to take it to their dealership. It took them a little over a week to put it back together. It turned out to be three broken bolts and a broken roller rocker plate.

Mt second problem was located in the rear end of the motorcycle. I had a mysterious noise every time I sat on the bike. After three attempts for two dealerships to find the problem, a smart mechanic finally changed the pivot shaft and bearing. Wow, that thing wore out within 4,000 miles.

General Comments:

Now that my motorcycle finally worked out its bugs, it performs like a dream. I'm so glad I purchased this motorcycle. My only regret is I purchased it one year too early, because I fell in love with the 2014's.

The bike rides as smooth as butter at highways speeds, with the cruise control on at the posted speed limit.

This sounds like the Street Glide I bought on 3-20-2015 with only 3470 miles. It was priced at a lower price than any other within 500 miles, so yes I got it, and man what a Glide it truly is.

This Street Glide is just like new, so if this one had problems under 4000 miles, I am glad that it did it then, rather than later with me. I believe that the previous owner traded it for a 2014.

After reading several reviews, I can agree with other owners that it's not worth paying an extra $5000.00 for a 2014.
