2004 Honda VTX1800

Summary:

Can't find more bike for the price

Faults:

I have not had it long enough to comment.

General Comments:

I am writing this review only because I am so impressed with the motorcycle.

In all honesty, I have never owned a Honda in my life, and I only bought this one because I work at a car dealership; we took it in on trade, it was a good price, a big machine. I'm a big guy, I rode it, I liked, so I bought it.

I have owned a lot of bikes, but my Harley's were hands down the most impressive machines I ever threw a leg over. Also the most expensive I ever owned.

But I have to say, this bike is love at first ride.!

Powerful, handles at speed, while creeping along, nimble comes to mind. Just overall, a great bike.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Don't Know

2004 Honda VTX1800

Summary:

More than you need, all that you want

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

What a beast. I hadn't ridden since a bad wreck 18 years ago, so the first ride felt like a run on the back of the minotaur. Nobody needs this much motorcycle, but everybody dreams of it.

The bike takes off like the space shuttle with only a couple of negligible flat spots in acceleration. Gears 1 to 2 mash a little noisy, but are starting to settle down.

The bike is not for small or short drivers, it feels heavy at a stop, but balances perfectly at low speed and beyond.

The bars could be a little longer and the seat feels like plywood after 10 miles. I replaced mine with a custom with gel insert.

This bike can put you in bikers heaven, literally and/or euphemistically depending on how well you ride. Be careful, enjoy and be careful.

5'3" and I love my VTX 1800 C. Height is negligible on this bike.

Satisfaction guaranteed no matter your size. I've put three thousand miles on this summer and every ride gets better. No limits on the 1800VTX; I've added saddlebags and a custom seat for the bride and plan to travel. I appreciate the quiet on the road too; there's just enough rumble when passing others to let them know there's no need to challenge!
