1986 Honda Z50
I could travel the world on this Z50
Rear sprocket worn out at 8th year of use.
Spark plug began to foul at 10th year.
Seat began to tear at 12th year.
Toughest, least expensive and most reliable motorcycle ever built. Since 1986, I only had to replace the spark plug; rear sprocket and seat cover which total less than $50.
It always starts in all seasons and runs at top performance like the early years. I rode it through mud, sand at the beaches and tall 3ft grass in pastures when I was a kid. I still occasionally ride it to on a monthly basis.
Honda had developed a highly efficient and fast entry-level motorcycle for kids. It does 35 mph and consumes one gallon of gasoline for 90 miles of riding. The newer models still share the same engine as my 1986 Z50 RD.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
