2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom Limited

Summary:

Basically cheap. Lots of plastic

Faults:

A constant problem of humming and buzzing from the belt drive. Consistently does it at one speed. Dealer can't seem to hear it ever, but has adjusted the belt with no change in intensity or noise.

Choke races engine at very high rpm. Try 30 mph in first. Does it on and off. Sometimes the choke won't kick in on a cold morning. Dealer aware of the problem, as they experienced it, but don't know what to do with it. Awaiting advice from Kawasaki.

General Comments:

Comfortable -- with a Corbin seat.

Good handling, nimble.

Fast enough, but busy over 70.

2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom Limited

Summary:

Very good deal for the price, very dependable

Faults:

No problems at this time.

General Comments:

Very nice motorcycle. Red and Black is good color coordination.

After 15000 miles, had to replace rear tire due to mileage. Otherwise, fits good on the seat, and still gets 42 mpg. I just wish they all had tachometers on them now.

Belt drive is very quiet. Holds weight very good on the road with passenger. When traveling at freeway speeds, the extra weight of the Vulcan 900 comes into play. Holds its ground very steady on freeway.
