2010 Kymco Xciting 250

Summary:

Overall a very solid, practical, and capable 250cc scooter

Faults:

Small leak behind the CVT cover.

General Comments:

Fuel injected, liquid cooled, triple disk brakes, 15" front and 14" rear wheels, LED lighting, adjustable levers, phone charger socket.

A bit large and heavy for a 250, but then it's really a Kymco Xciting 500 fitted with an enhanced 250 drivetrain derived from the Kymco Bet & Win 250, People 250, and GrandVista scooters.

The Xciting 250 tops out near 80mph with high RPM, but will run 60-65 all day.

Very little vibration. Impressive fit and finish. Marginally better ride on bumpy roads than the 400 Burgman, probably because of the larger wheels and slightly higher seat, but still not up to motorcycle standards. Not quite as much legroom as the 400 Burgman.

Oil changes are easy. Valves can be accessed/adjusted without removing any side panels, although the "pet carrier" must be removed. Underseat storage is less than the Burgman. No replacement parts needed yet, but Kymco prices seem very reasonable compared to other manufacturers.

Overall a solid, well engineered product, quite frankly with fewer build quality/design issues than my last new BMW.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
