2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50

General Comments:

First bike I ever owned. Finally got to ride it today on the back roads with some twisties. The bike rode awesome.

Hard to compare it to other bikes. The only bikes that I have ridden were the Honda Rebel from my MSF course and my buddies V-Star Custom 750, which is a nice bike and was one of my other considerations.

All I was really looking for was a shaft drive, EFI, and the M50 fit the bill and then some.

Forgot to add if anyone was wondering.. I am 5'6", 155 pounds. I am able to plant both my feet well on the ground. Love this bike. Lots of my friends love the look. I don't think you can go wrong if you consider one.

I live in Mauritius island and need advice on how to solve the problem of me finding the handle bars too far, not allowing a comfortable ride after half an hour. Is there another handle bar that will fit so that it is closer to my body, and makes my arms not stretch out for the grips.

The M50 is considered more of a sports cruiser. Try JPcycles.com, they have quite a few handle bar selections.

Go to migcruisers.com, they are a user group for this type of motorcycle. Someone there may have a good idea on handlebars.

Summary:

What motorcycling is meant to feel like

Faults:

I had a bolt break in the clamp that holds the clutch assembly, had to have the dealer replace the whole clamp.

General Comments:

I love this motorcycle, this bike feels like it was made just for me, I love how it looks, how it rides.

I previously owned a Buell Blast... OK that's enough laughing, this bike is such an upgrade in handling, acceleration, comfort, performance, shifts like a dream compared to the Blast. I wish I had just gone straight onto this bike and never wasted any time on the Blast. Now I know the pure enjoyment of motorcycle riding.

Anyone looking for a cruiser should check this bike out, it is worth it.

2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50

Summary:

Very nice bike!

Faults:

None what so ever.

General Comments:

The bike is awesome. I saw a lot of people talking about the comfort. I am a bigger guy, but not that tall, only 5'8", but I am very comfortable on the bike. The bars are almost perfect for my stature. I wish the controls were a little more forward, like the ones on my buddy's Shadow.

I am very impressed with the power of the bike. I raced my buddy's shadow, and he couldn't keep up. The bike was very stable at high speeds. I pegged the speedo at 120, and it felt like it had more.

Very nice cruising at highway speeds, between 70-80 mph, but I absolutely hate the location of the ignition - if you have any type of key ring on it, it will wear off the paint on the plastic side cover. And it definitely needs to be louder!

You hit the nail on the head with the key ring and the pipes being very "tame". Other than those things, and the controls not being forward enough, I love my '06.

I had an 06 M50 with Vance and Hines "Cruzer" Pipes on it and the sound was fantastic. It was louder with the baffles in, than my buddies C50 stock pipes with the baffles removed. I think that the M50 is great.

I come come from a sport bike background. The only thing that I would improve would be better braking. At high speeds I feel like I'm landing a fully loaded 747.

I agree. I was originally looking at the Honda Shadow Spirit 750. But liked the mono rear shock and FI and shaft drive on the Suzuki. I have been well pleased with my 06 so far after putting over 17,000 km's on it.
