1968 BSA B44 review from United States of America
"Beautiful hand made work of art"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Everything, and I still love this little thing!!!
General comments?
Absolutely a blast to ride! It is loud and torquey, turns heads wherever I go, and people just think it's pretty.
However, this is a bike for those who want to work on what they ride. It is a very simple single carb and cylinder 441cc thumper. Really easy to work on. It was my first bike. I bought it knowing nothing about motorcycles or British singles and I learned the ins and outs quickly. Yes, it needs constant love and attention, but don't all good and beautiful things? The diametrical opposite of mass produced efficiency.
Love it, love it, love it. Perfect city bike. I would not take it on the highway though. But then again I wouldn't take any bike on the highway.
