2003 Ducati Supersport 1000 DS from New Zealand

Summary:

It gets under your skin, and you can't imagine ever selling it

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the bike, but it is a very cold starter in the winter. Many times it will not start at all until the temperature warms up a bit. When the weather is better, it starts first try every time.

General Comments:

Apart from the terrible cold starting in winter, this is an amazing bike.

Acceleration and handling are great.

Looks new and rides tight, even though it is 10 years old.

Ownership costs are OK.

I have even toured on it, and will be using it for this more in the future.

The seat is comfortable, and once up to speed, the wind helps keep the pressure off your wrists.

One negative is that it is hard on your neck when you have to turn to see behind you - just use your mirrors more.

It is not built for commuting, but I also use it for this when I get the urge.

High first gear means some clutch slipping in traffic, but you get used to this.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
