2000 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide from Australia

Summary:

Its look, the sound system, the comfort; all great

Faults:

Cam chain needed replacing at 92.000 ks. I replaced the belt drive with chain for reliability

General Comments:

I use it for tourism joy rides. It's perfect, and I love everything about it.

2000 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide from United States of America

Summary:

Great bike, fun ride

Faults:

I agree with the water vapor in the fuel gauge.

Also, the tachometer failed at 25500 miles.

The only other problem is shifting between 2nd to 3rd gear; once in a while it will pop out of gear.

General Comments:

This is my first Harley, but overall it's a great bike and no problems in 6,000 miles, even after riding it hard. The issues are minimal.

2000 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide from United States of America

Summary:

Good bike, bad relationship with the company and its habit of leaving the R&D to the dealer/owners

Faults:

Cam bearings at 6000.

Rod/crank assembly ay 41000.

Water vapor in the gas gauge at 3000.

Brake pads every 10000 mi.

General Comments:

Good bike except for dealer and factory ambivalence toward problems caused by poor design.

The cam bearings went out, which caused the crank and rod assembly to get loose prematurely, with absolutely no assistance from the manufacturer during my experience with the crank and rods getting loose.

The bike as a unit is good, and you can ride it all day, which I have done on several occasions. I have put over 1000 miles on it in a 24 hour period, and have ridden it 4700 miles on a 10 day trip.
