1990 Honda CB-1 from United States of America

Summary:

If I had to own just one, this would be it

Faults:

This was my track bike and street bike for years, so it spent most of its time bouncing off redline. It developed a tiny head gasket leak (to the environment, not into the oil) around 31k miles. No other faults.

General Comments:

Handling is incredible from the factory, but is much improved with upgraded suspension front and back.

Braking is superb and only gets better with a stainless line up front.

Comfort is sufficient, but seat height is low, so seat to peg distance is small.

Technology is great with gear driven cams and liquid cooling, and the whine from the intakes is sublime.

1990 Honda CB-1 from Canada

Summary:

An exciting small bike

Faults:

Absolutely nothing.

General Comments:

I always kick myself for getting rid of this motorcycle. It was by far the most fun motorcycle I have owned.

The 400 cc four-cylinder engine screams to a 14000 rpm red-line. There is almost nothing below 8000, which gives the rider an excellent excuse to drive aggressively.

Brakes are excellent. Fuel mileage is excellent.

Why did I trade it for a VTR1000? I do not know.

1991 Honda CB-1 from Greece

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Very good moto, without problems. You can use the Honda CB-1 400cc in city and on highways. The top speed is 202 km/h (tested with GPS). The only problem is the air when you drive past 140 km/h.

I have had a lot of motos (XT600/1989, GSXR750/1990, KR1/1997, CM200/1985 and GP400/1986.

I will never sell this moto.

My CBI 400cc?

It's a great bike! I have acquired this bike 3 years ago, second hand, but still it runs smoothly. Maintenance is also easy, and parts are still available (original ones). One problem though is the pricing! Hope that they can lower the price.

This bike will surely remain with me as long as parts are available for its restoration, even if I have a chance to get another bike, CBR1000RR!

To all those out there who have CB1 - 400cc! Enjoy it and GOD speed.

I love this bike. I got mine in 2005, and have been loving it almost every day. I would like it do go a bit faster than 115mph, but who really needs 100mph plus travel in America?

Hasn't stopped me from getting tickets at 90 plus mph. Almost went to jail.

Super reliable, as efficient as my Golf diesel on fuel, easy to ride; flick, turn and trick.

If you can find one, I recommend them highly!
