1996 Honda CB750 Nighthawk from United States of America
Super fun bike that is economical and dependable
Front brake light switch for $10 on eBay.
After many years on V-Twin motorcycles, my first impression was how smooth the ride is and how easily the inline four revs and the effortless acceleration.
This was a Craigslist find. The original owner's son sold it to me ($1,200 US). Even though the bike had sat a while, it started and I was able to drive it home.
To bring it back to life I changed the oil (Castrol POWER RS RACING 4T SAE 10W-40) and filter (FRAM PH6017A), and flushed the front brake fluid (Lucas synthetic DOT 4) also. The bike has started, idled and ran smoother after about 10 gallons of fuel treated with Sea Foam.
I replaced the tires with Avon RoadRiders 140/70-17 rear and 110/80-18 up front, and am very happy with them so far.
Overall this Honda is a well built, super reliable motorcycle that is very easy to work on. Parts are no problem to find; even the oil filter is sold off the shelf at Walmart.
Riding a 1996 Honda Nighthawk 750 is very comfortable. It has an upright seating position, and shifts and accelerates with ease. Cornering and braking are solid and sure footed; just a great all around motorcycle.
