2025 Honda GB350R from New Zealand

Summary:

Excellent first motorbike that is Honda-reliable, great looking and makes a lovely sound

Faults:

Nothing. I overfilled it with oil but it tolerated this easily. Very reliable bike.

General Comments:

This is a perfect beginner motorcycle or for those downsizing from larger bikes. It is what it is, a 20 hp retro looking naked bike that has a lovely exhaust note and great late-1970s looks. It is lightweight, handles well and the seat is excellent. Rear suspension doesn’t jar your spine. Gearbox is very forgiving, it has a light clutch lever and a slipper system which allows downshifting without the need to rev match. It struggles up steep hills or into headwinds because of the modest power. I’m still loving it, but if Honda brought a GB500 to New Zealand I’d buy one tomorrow.
