1989 Honda NX125 review from United States of America
"Reliable and Slow"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Literally nothing.
General comments?
Slow top-speed, but it would maintain it for miles. Never had anything break on it. Routine maintenance was simple.
The top speed on this bike was 64 mph on the road. When it got hot from running at this speed for so long, it would drop to 57 mph. It was not too happy on the freeway. At 64 mph, it got 86 miles per gallon. I was going to try and put a smaller sprocket on for more top speed, but it probably wouldn't be worth it.
It was not the best off-road. I got stuck in the mud and had to rock it out a couple of times. On the road it did not accelerate very quickly. The best spot was 3rd gear from 35mph to 45mph, that was the most fun. Oil changes and spark plugs were the only maintenance. Had to buy a special spark plug socket for it.
It was a fun commuter and cheap on insurance.
