2023 Honda PCX125 from Sri Lanka

Summary:

Reliable and efficient

Faults:

So far, after 12,000 km in three years, I've had no problems with my bike. I just need to refuel, start it, and ride. I only have the proper service every 4,000 km.

General Comments:

The PXC is an incredible scooter, very comfortable, impressively agile, and highly adaptable for everyday use in the city.

A balanced combination of low fuel consumption and, therefore, low cost per mile. One of the best value-for-money offerings in the category. And robust and reliable engine power that accelerates wonderfully with just 125 cc.

The design is updated from its first versions almost 15 years ago, with exterior finishes that continue to include Galaxy Matte Black Metallic, and incorporate Dim Matte Gray Metallic, Snowflake Pearl White, and Arl Dash Pearl Blue.

In terms of equipment and safety, I highlight the very good brakes at both low and high speeds, thanks to the disc brakes on both wheels.

Very economical, it only consumes around 2 l/100 km and has a range of around 385 kilometers on an 8.1-liter tank.

It uses a single-cylinder engine that is reliable, durable, and affordable due to its easy maintenance.

2010 Honda PCX125 from United States of America

Summary:

Honda quality and efficiency

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

I was driving a gas guzzling old Volvo and purchased my 2010 Honda PCX125 to commute. It was a great scooter. At 145lb, I found it to have adequate power. Not fast, but enough to maintain 55mph on steep hills. The combi-brake (both front and rear brakes apply in tandem) was a very nice feature to help with braking stability, especially as a first time rider. Safety first!

I kept track of my MPG over the years and saw anywhere from the high 70s to the mid 90s. I did gain 35lb during my ownership of the scooter and that had a huge impact on both fuel economy and performance. At 180lb, it just didn't have enough power for maintaining 55mph on hills anymore.

I hit a deer one night doing 45-50mph. The scooter frame was slightly bent. I was thrown off and broke my collarbone. I had the damages repaired through my insurance. The combi-brake never worked after that. I'm not sure if they failed to repair a damaged component or forgot to reassemble something.

I sold it 3 years after buying the scooter for about half the price I paid new.
