2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 500 from Japan

Summary:

A small and cheerful bike for any occasion

Faults:

Due to its low design, it's easy to scrape the footrest indicators when cornering aggressively.

Vibrations are present in the mid-range of revolutions, although they decrease as they are exceeded.

The rear suspension, although comfortable, is simple and not advancedly adjustable for preload, which can cause movement over bumps at high speed.

Fuel gauge accuracy issues and Bluetooth connectivity problems.

The standard seat can be uncomfortable for long journeys, and the foot position is further back than on a traditional custom motorcycle, which can tire the legs.

General Comments:

It's a motorcycle you'd love to use every day, and although its classic sport bike aesthetic won't appeal to everyone, it will be perfect for those who do.

At the start, it allows for smooth power delivery for precise acceleration and prevents hand fatigue during slow maneuvers. This gives the rider the opportunity to focus on the technical aspects of riding, such as road position and observation, rather than worrying about machine control.

Whether climbing, descending, or changing direction, the Eliminator 500 SE is a solid choice. Its low-slung styling, which gives it a drag-racing look, hides a docile and easy-to-handle motorcycle that will help you gain confidence and hone your skills. The rubber-mounted handlebars and cushioned footpegs, along with the upright riding position, make it ideal for spending all day in the saddle, and its performance is more than enough to keep you enjoying yourself to the fullest.

The riding position is surprisingly neutral, which, along with a low dry weight of 177 kg, makes the Eliminator attractive, manageable, and not at all intimidating. The controls require minimal effort, particularly the clutch, which is operated with a single finger.

The low center of gravity provides predictable and confident handling at both high and low speeds, thanks to the 18-inch front wheel that responds well to even the slightest touch on the handlebars for easy turning. It's a reassuring feeling that lets you know exactly who's in control.

The distance to the ground is somewhat limited, and it doesn't take much effort to touch the footrest; whether this makes you shudder or smile will depend on each person's attitude.

The engine has excellent low-end torque and just the right amount of midrange power for well-planned overtaking on a single-lane road. Throttle response is instantaneous and precise.

The bike looks and feels solid. There are no issues with the paint finish or the quality of the components, and all the controls, from the gearshift to the switches, convey a high-quality feel.

Finally, regarding equipment, it features front and rear LED lighting, and its single headlight provides impressive light distribution from an element roughly the size of a quarter of a pea. In keeping with its minimalist design, the compact LCD panel offers clear and concise readability, highlighting all the information necessary for riding.
