2006 Suzuki Boulevard S50 from United States of America

Summary:

Excellent

Faults:

Gas cap rattle. 10 minute fix.

General Comments:

Very quick agile bike for someone my size. I'm 5'7", and weigh 170.

Some people have said the seat is too hard, but I ride mine daily with stock seat on a 120 mile round trip to work and back, and have no complaints.

I get 60 miles per gallon. Added the backrest and rack.

The bike is very photogenic. I've scored a few good looking gals with this rig.

Thanks for telling me what I wanted to hear. Now there is one other thing for me to consider. Will this bike handle 2 riders, such as an adult and a small child. I have a 9 year old that likes to go where ever I go. If I put saddle bags on it, will that be too much weight. I am 5'7" and about 180 lbs, and my 9 year old is about 60 lbs. Can this bike handle this. Thanks for your help.

Sure it will handle it. I'm 1.81 meters tall and I'm around the 100 Kilograms (sorry I'm not good in pounds and feet) and my wife is around the 1.63 meters and 53 kilograms... My S50 has plenty of power for both of us...

Ride Safely!

I really like the Boulevard S50. My bike gets many looks, and lots of people say they like it.

I had a rattle with the gas cap, but wasn't sure how to fix it. It was still under warranty, so the dealership gave me another one. Other than that, I love the bike and have put many miles on it.

Thanks for the excellent review. I just purchased a used 2005 S50 and LOVE IT. Only 1 issue besides the squeaky front brake - the back of the gas cap seems to vibrate like the devil almost constantly - I can hardly even hear the engine over it. I was thinking of getting some weather stripping with an adhesive edge and fitting it on the under-edge of the cap. Would this work? What was your method of fixing the issue? Thanks!

Summary:

The bike has plenty of power for most riding situations, looks great and is a heck of a lot of fun!

Faults:

I have just passed the 1000km break in period and nothing has gone wrong with this bike.

General Comments:

Overall the bike is great fun to ride. This is my first bike, and at first I was a little intimidated by how much power is actually available at the lower rpms. If there was one thing I would change it would be to add another gear.

Having passed the 1000km break in period, I am extremely pleased with the bike with three minor exceptions:

The gas tank is a little small. I can get about 200km before I have to switch to the reserve. For around town riding this is not a problem, but on longer trips you will be stopping more frequently to fill up.

After the first couple of hundred kms, I started to get the front break squeal that I heard reported by others. Once up to speed at 75-80km/h you don't hear it, but as you slow down you will start to hear it again.

The seat can get a bit uncomfortable on longer rides as your backside will get a little numb.
