1981 Suzuki GSX250EX from United Kingdom

Summary:

Interesting eighties commuter - a bit slow

Faults:

Rectifier / regulator blew replaced for £40 with a pattern part.

Silencers rotted out.

General Comments:

It's a four stroke 250 twin from 1981, so it's generally pretty slow, but does have a little spurt of power if you cane it through the gears. Tops out at about 75mph, and does the same speed in 5th or 6th. Feeble on hills, partly due to the very high gearing.

Wouldn't tick over when I bought it, but this turned out to be tight valve clearances, which were easy to adjust.

Handles really well and also pretty good brakes. Does about 65-70 mpg, and quite reasonable finish. Very eighties - I love it!

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
