1992 Suzuki VS1400 Intruder from United States of America

Summary:

Great fun for a bike that I got for free!

Faults:

Clutch hydraulic reservoir seals lost their ability to release the clutch after the pressure was up.

General Comments:

This bike sat in a chicken coup for over 10 years.

Needed the gas tank cleaned out with acid and then treatment for rust.

One coil and wire assembly had low resistance, so it was replaced.

Carbs needed cleaning out; they were a mess.

Air filter foam had turned to powder.

Battery was shot.

One spark plug wire was bad, it had no connection from the boot clip to the wire.

Carbs needed to be synchronized. Now starts and rumbles great, sounds better than a Harley.

A real arm puller, it will almost pull your arms from the shoulders when you get on it.

Heavy enough to not even flinch when passed by an 18 wheeler going the opposite direction at highway speeds. Does not leak anything.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
