2005 Yamaha Road Star 1600 from Australia

Summary:

I've owned more than 45 bikes in my 49 years of riding, & this is the best cruiser I've ever ridden

Faults:

I can't complain about my XV1600 at all. It's been a joy to ride wherever I go.

I regularly service the bike myself, I do the tappets every 20,000 KM, I put a lambs wool cover on the seat, a detachable switchblade windscreen & Edge Tekleather bags on it with detachable brackets. I also put a detachable rider's back rest on it. I'm 63 years old with a few back issues & honestly (!!) I can ride this bike all day, absolutely comfortable, easy to handle & it's never let me down.

Can I add, if any one has a 2006/2007 stock Road Star Silverado with low KM in top condition for sale, I'm very interested in buying it & importing it to Australia.

Regards

Slav.

2001 Yamaha Road Star 1600 from United States of America

Summary:

Freedom!

Faults:

Nothing went wrong with my bike (Road Star 1600cc).

General Comments:

My Road Star was everything I was looking for in a nice strong cruiser.

Like with most bike owners, I made some modifications. The first thing I changed was the seats. The stock seats were OK for the first 80 miles, but after that, my butt got sore. The first thing I did was replace the seats with deep cups style seating from Corbin, and now I could go twice as far without resting.

I also added an MP3 player on the bike with a flash media player. I uses to have a CD player, but there were just too many bumps while riding for the thing to work properly. The MP3 solution solve this problem with ease because of its solid state configuration and no moving parts.

As far as the bike goes, it rides smooth and it handles very good. I did change the handle grips with brand called Kuryakyn. With these new hand grips, vibration of the bike engine is dampened bigtime.

The bike is massive, and it looks retro and turns heads everywhere I go. I just love going up a few mile to Starbucks just before I setoff into cruising uptown. It's cool to ride and I love the freedom I get when I ride!
