2001 Yamaha TT-R225 from United States of America

Summary:

A inexpensive, fun, dependable trail rider

Faults:

Front fork leaks.

Gas tank leaks.

General Comments:

I am a mountain trail rider and it is a great bike for that. Not a fast or racing bike. Not a jumper.

Will wheelie only in 2nd gear - not enough power in the others. Very comfortable over the bumps. Great hill climber.

It's a great beginner bike, however if you are an expert rider you will want more power. I want to move up to a WR450. I continue to ride this bike because I am a technical rider and it is good for that. Very dependable. Cold natured.

The electric start is good.

I have the 02 TT-R225. I bought used and have been disappointed due to it being hard to start. Perhaps once I fix that issue I'll enjoy it more.

I agree that it is not for the experienced rider who wants to turn it up. The TT-R is too sluggish for that on the bottom end. Top end speed is good however with the six speed. I just would like a more forceful yank on my neck with a roll of the throttle.
