2011 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom from United States of America

Summary:

VERY GOOD for the buck

Faults:

Oil gasket leak at about 22,000; repaired under warranty.

General Comments:

Overall good bike that doesn't do anything great, BUT looks quite polished, handles easy and performs surprisingly well for such a low cost machine.

This bike was and still is a great buy for me, because I am short (5 foot six), it was my first motorcycle, and because I didn't want to spend a lot on a bike when other things are more necessary.

2011 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom from United States of America

Summary:

Good bike for the money

Faults:

Drive shaft oil leak - $600 job, covered by the extended warranty.

General Comments:

Generally speaking this is a good motorcycle for the money. At 5'6 I find the bike comfortable and not too wide like many other bikes. It is also reliable and rides well on the back roads or highway (good suspension).

Its power is limited, however I ride a 100 miles round trip to work (some on highway) and ride 50 miles to my ski country campsite (all highway) and it does quite well.
