2011 Yamaha XT250A from Canada

Summary:

Great back road off road rambler

Faults:

Carb is set too lean from the factory. You have to remove a plug on the carb to access the idle mixture screw and enrichen it a bit.

General Comments:

Very maneuverable bike on the street considering it has dual sport tires. Front brake is excellent. Easy to lift the rear tire and do a stoppy! Rear disc might as well have been a drum brake. Decent fuel mileage, 55-65 MPG. Nice gauge layout with a dual trip meter. Off road performance is decent, but it should have come with a skid plate from the factory.

All the bike you need unless you need to cruise more than 60mph. The bike will do about 75 mph flat out, but any headwind or hill will have you down to 65-70 mph. For highway use another 100 cc is needed.

I went on a 1200 mile road trip in the Rockies carrying a tent and camping supplies. The bike worked perfectly through logging roads and mining roads. The light weight and low seat height makes trail work a breeze.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
