1975 Suzuki TS185 Sierra from New Zealand - Comments

"A truly great around-town and weekend in the dirt fun bike!"

What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?

I managed to shear the rear sprocket from its mountings after about 4,000 of rough play, much of it in the dirt. All the other replacements, cables, mudguards, tires, rims, lights, were due to me falling off so can't blame the trusty TS for that!

The biggest thing that went wrong with the bike was me buying a house, it had to go for the deposit!

General comments?

I just loved this bike and spent most of every day riding it or talking about it.

Its lightness and nimble handling meant I could outrace 250"s in the dirt on a tight track no worries.

Maybe I should have kept the bike and sold the house - sigh.

I agree the early TS185's were fantastic little machines and were as fast as the TS250 under many condition, as they were so light. Good on the metal roads that we have in NZ, but the latter model from the 1980s was a better farm bike with its power in the lower rev range and lower gearing.
