2007 Suzuki Boulevard M50 review from United States of America
"The M50 is hands down the best mid-size cruiser on the market today!"
What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?
Nothing!
General comments?
This bike rocks! I’ve had my eye on the M50 line since they first came out in 2005. I finally got my hands on a limited edition 2007 model back in July, and 4,000 miles later, I have no regrets.
This bike is everything I’d hoped it would be and much more. It has far surpassed any expectations I may have had for it.
My friend had purchased a Vulcan 900 and tried to get me to do the same. Another friend tried to talk me into an 883 Sportster as well, but after a lot of research, I found that the M50 was a better bike not only for the money, but for the additional features as well.
The Harley was ruled out first because of two reasons; it was carbureted instead of fuel injected, and it was air cooled instead of liquid. Not to mention the crapy looking base pipes it comes with. I’d end up paying 10 grand for the bike just to make it sound like a Harley!
I chose the M50 over the Vulcan 900 mainly because of the low maintenance shaft drive versus the belt. Not to mention the looks! It’s a beautifully designed bike! The power and acceleration are great also. I can’t say enough great things about this bike, but there are a couple of things that bug me:
1: That rear brake is too soft. I took it to the dealership for adjustment, and it's working better, but a disk would work much better.
2: The bike wasn’t loud enough for me, so thanks to a video I found online (Debaffle this!), I de-baffled my M50! If anyone out there is thinking about it, then check out this video and go for it. It really is as easy as it looks, and it sounds almost as good as a Harley now!
