2006 Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i review from India

"Amazing"

What things have gone wrong with the motorcycle?

Side stand clamp broken.

Tyres just don't hold under heavy braking.

Gearbox needs improving.

General comments?

This motorcycle is seriously fun without burning a hole in your pocket. I get an average of 48km/ltr on the highway and in the city. For a 180 cc it's amazing. If you're really careful on the highway it even gives 58km/ltr...

Here's a few tips - shift at 4500 rpm, and when it's in top gear, ride between 50-70.

Sure, all you guys who get 30-35 either don't know to ride or always rip the bike..

The worst its ever given was 34 when I was ripping the bike and having a heavy person sitting on the bike.

About the Pulsar v/s Karizma - to me, under normal riding, you wont find any difference. The pickup is the same. Only the Karizma has a better top end and top speed..

Other areas where the Karizma has its advantages are the long wheel base and a superb gearbox. But one thing the Pulsar has got in its favour is a its fuel economy of 48km/ltr against a Karizmas 36!! And not to forget Bajajs cheap spares..
