1992 Kawasaki GTR1000

Summary:

Huge single mission machine

Faults:

Nothing went wrong.

I didn't have the bike for very long though.

General Comments:

Gigantic! This bike is a real monster, more like a car on two wheels.

I found the bike to be too big, and I had serious trouble touching down on both sides. Being about the same weight as India, it is not a bike you want to prop up with your leg. If you drop it, that's it, it's part of the landscape and will gradually wear away due to future glacial action.

The bike is designed as an intercontinental mile muncher, and not a nippy little sports bike or commuter machine.

The Bike was well screwed together and for a Kwaker, it sounded very nice. The shaft drive power delivery was very instant and maintenance free... virtually.

Once on the go, the big GTR offered excellent comfort levels and stress free riding.

I didn't like the bike, too big for me. That's probably more my fault than Kawasaki's though.

Great presence but no street fighter, you won't be flinging this lump around twisty B roads, no matter how good a rider you are.

So, the GTR is a bit of a one trick pony. Need to drive from Portsmouth to Pluto, on an autobahn? Then this is the machine for you.

Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Don't Know
