1998 Kawasaki ZX-11

Summary:

What an amazing machine

Faults:

This rear light has gotten loose.

General Comments:

This motorcycle is SO fast, and it's also extremely comfortable. It's very smooth; the power just rolls on beautifully, no matter what gear you're in.

I have a 1998 ZX-11; recently just bought it and I have no complaints.

When maneuvering it slowly it can be a bitch to handle; I mean this thing is heavy, but once you get moving, on the highway this bike really shines and it feels as light as a feather LOL. Coming from a 1995 Katana 600 to this, it was well worth it; what an upgrade.

These bikes are extremely rare, and I'm glad I found one in good condition with a lot of life left. I highly recommend this bike for anyone...

The ZX-11D was the last of the bikes I bought, and by far the best. Blindingly fast, strong brakes, comfortable, utterly reliable, it still resides in my garage, though in my advanced dotage I rarely ride it any longer. Now a doddering old fart with no riding buds (all have croaked or moved away), I keep the old beast mainly for sentimental reasons, a final remnant of my misspent youth.

I also own one of these beautiful beasts... mine a 1991, purchased new in the Seattle area. Have gotten 52 mpg from it on cold night run up I-5 from Vancouver WA., also never kept its front wheel on the ground over some small highway hilltops... She WAS and IS a proper BEAST. Reliable? Like a toaster.

I am older now. Don't ride enough to justify keeping it. Sure has been a pleasure!!

1995 Kawasaki ZX-11

Summary:

Legendary bike with strong acceleration and reliability

Faults:

Top-end was rebuilt in '08 due to the #3 piston rod failure.

Oil bypass system was installed to improve oil flow efficiency.

Since the repair, the bike has run smooth and strong. No problems.

General Comments:

Awesome bike. Incredible acceleration. It will be heavier in the corners, but still feels very planted and capable. Reliability of the Z engine is positive, much lower maintenance than a Ducati.

Riding position is comfortable, most like a sport touring versus the racer position of a sport bike. This bike will feel a bit heavy in parking lots and slow maneuvers, given the heft of the machine. I hope to have this a long time.
