2012 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT from United States of America

Summary:

I like my Can-Am, but not sure that I would buy another one

Faults:

We had an oil leak and and antifreeze leak this summer. The first was the first week of June 2013. The second leak was the first week of June. By that time I was very frustrated by the leaks; so much so that my husband and I were ready to get rid of the motorcycle. The dealer was very supportive of us and fixed the problem finally. Since then the motorcycle has been running fine.

General Comments:

I am pleased with the dealer. I don't blame them for the issues of our bike. They were very supportive.

2012 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT from United States of America

Summary:

A nice bike for the retired group, who want to feel young again

Faults:

The bike is the Limited Edition, and the GPS system that came as standard is a nice feature.

The seat is comfortable, and there is room for two riders.

The storage compartments came with luggage, and there is room for lots of gear.

The gas gauge is not accurate, I get an empty reading and there is still 2.5 gallons left in the tank. The dealer changed the fuel pump, but that didn't change anything.

I get 32 MPG, but the manufacturer doesn't believe that is possible. However, I'm an not an aggressive hot rod driver, and I have continued to check the mileage, and it is better than advertised.

I like having the security of the 3 wheel system, as I am older.

General Comments:

The bike comes equipped with many more headlights and back lights than most bikes.

2012 BRP Can-Am Spyder RT from United States of America

Summary:

Most fun I have had in a long time. Try it, you will love it too

Faults:

The only wrong things I have had:

The gas gauge was faulty from day one (replaced at 600 mile service) - fixed.

The belt needed to be adjusted at the 5000 mile service.

General Comments:

I also feel like a salesman, but when you have one of these, you are.

I have owned Harley Ultra Classics and Honda Goldwings, and this is so much more fun.

After 43 plus years of two wheels, the fun of riding is back.

I only wish is that more aftermarket manufacturers would see the profits they are missing. Spyder riders are in need of additional accessories.
