2007 Kawasaki KLR650 from Botswana
Summary:
Superb!
Faults:
Excessive oil consumption due to valve and cylinder problems.
Spark problems. Lack of spark may be due to a problem with the black-and-yellow wire or the black-and-white wire on the safety switch.
Fuel pump failure, problems with the fuel pump, which can prevent the motorcycle from starting, especially when hot.
No other significant faults beyond these.
General Comments:
The bike is super comfortable, optimally tuned, and suitable for long trips. Its windshield provides good wind protection. It also has a rear monoshock that works well and a 21-inch front wheel that helps overcome obstacles on rough terrain. It is a motorcycle that performs competently on and off road, ideal for adventure trips.
Its simple mechanics make it easy to repair, even in remote locations, and spare parts are easy to obtain.
The single-cylinder engine is brilliant, for being relatively small it accelerates very well and offers a flat power delivery and good torque, ideal for carrying loads and climbing hills. Another important thing is that the 23-liter tank offers great autonomy, allowing you to travel long distances without refueling.
It's a lightweight, rugged bike, and much more athletic than I expected. It's incredibly easy and simple to ride, even for first-time riders.
Would you buy another motorcycle from this manufacturer? Yes
