You may have too much choke on. Really, it will do this too.

Well it sounds like you need to replace the clutch disks; it's too far worn out for adjustment.

Make sure your kickstand is up when you put it in gear; it'll die on you when you put it in gear if it ain't; you have a safety kickstand on it.
