I just got rid of my weak GS500 to move up to something bigger. I came across a 1995 RF900R for 2500us. I am getting it this week. I hope it's all you guys raved about.

I've had my 96 RF900R for 2 years. I bought it for 2900 US dollars with only 4721 miles on it, and I have 13k now.

I love the bike. I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone interested.

I did have a slight problem with the charging system; there is a rubber coupler that goes between the alternator and the drive shaft. It is there in case your alternator locks up; the rubber will break away and not lock up your tranny. Over 12 years of wear the rubber wore out and broke away. At the time I was not aware of this, and spent $300 USD on a rebuilt alternator, only to find out that was not my issue. If any of you have a charging issue, check that first, as I hear it is a common issue.

From what I understand a GSXR1100 motor will drop right in the RF frame. I haven't had a chance to find out for myself yet, but I am looking for a good low mileage 1100 motor. I did research part numbers, and the crank case is definitely the same, and I believe the trans is also.

The only complaint I have with the bike is I don't like the seat, I think it is too wide. If anyone has an aftermarket seat available, please email me at metalhead01_99@yahoo.com

I just installed a Viper racing exhaust in my 1995 RF. Paid $100 on ebay. Sounds really good. Factory whispering no more!

I have an RF900R from 97. I am from Croatia and for our roads and highways it's an EXCELLENT motorcycle. In my country there only two RFs, and most bikers don't know what it is.

My bike had 40000 km and looks still new.

If I want some spare parts, my local dealer tells me that is not problem.

I drove my RF4 year and I only buy filters, sparks, brake pads and of course TYRES.

That is very good bike, believe me.

To the guy who wanted to know where to get new plastic, this is the only place I've found that sells it http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/suzuz/RF9001994-97.htm

The parts are fiberglass, but they claim that they are lighter. They also sell a fiberglass tank for it, which is much lighter than the stock one.

I have a RED 95 RF900R and I absolutely love it. My friend has an 08 ZX-10 and he calls me "crazy" in the twisties. The bike is so comfortable and stable that it's easy to go fast on.

I just bought a 94 with 17k on it, still basically an intermediate rider. I find it more comfortable, and a friendly or shall I say tamable power band.

Sure you can go off and it will lift into a wheelie if you twist it right, which I do not, yet it is at home at lower rpm.

Having starting out on a Honda CX 500 years ago, then picking up the sport again earlier this summer, the blistering ability it holds combined with a touring sensibility feels great. Feel much safer on it then the other flimsier bikes.

I was excited to read about the new GSXF 650, yet disappointed when arriving at the dealer to find it flimsy looking like the GS 500 that sat next to it. Perhaps it will evolve into something like the RF. Hope that's where they're going. There has got to be something in between absolute cruiser and total full time rocket, any suggestions?

Where can I get a better seat that's not huge expensive?

Hi all you RF 900 LOVERS.

I say if you are a 1/2 decent rider, you and your RF can compete with all this modern stuff.

I have a low mileage 94, no it won't lift the front wheel, maybe it's because I am 17 stone. Believe me it has loads of power, handles a DREAM. I use it like a 250.cc bike. Stunning looks, what a lovely ass she has, that shape.

I have had it around 165mph. It's untouched. What a dream machine, love at first sight, still in love with her.

GUYS, if you want a REAL bike that not only performs > it out performs > get an RF. The 95 is a better choice due to an updated rear shock; all else the same.

Regards AND GOOD RIDING.
